I'm Going to London!

I’ve got some excited news to tell!! Me and my friends are planning a trip to London!!!! It’s actually school related but the moment we heard that we could choose any country in Europe we didn’t had a real discussion about where we wanted to go to. We all said that we wanted to go to London and so it was decided. But then we had to wait a very long time because somewhere at the beginning in year one we already knew we wanted to go to London. And then we had to wait till the end of year two. But this semester we’re going! It’s finally happening!

My favourite picture from the visit in 2011

I can’t wait to go back to London. I’ve been there once with school and that was 4 years ago. I can’t believe it has been so long!! But I fell in love with the city and said that I would go back there very soon. I was only 5 days in London and I wish I never left. So since then I’ve been only dreaming on and on about going back and walk in London again. And now school gives us an opportunity to stay in a country for 2 weeks! And I’M SO HAPPY!!

These whole two weeks we have to organise by ourselves and there are no teachers coming with us. (YAY!) The main plan is that we have to write stories that we can sell in The Netherlands for newspapers or magazines. So we still have to plan a lot of things and actually we still have to do everything. We’ve only had this idea and now we have to start and actually make our ideas reality. So we’ve still a long way to go but I wish you could see how happy I am. It’s going to happen in June so it’s still a long way to go. But I’m just so excited!!

I hope I can update you guys more about how the plans are going. I could also use some advice from you guys who live in London or nearby because I don’t know anyone there (read that as, we need your help like; do you know a cheap place to stay for two weeks, or if you know a place with great history or just beautiful nature to write about you really have to tell me.)
Or you just know places that we REALLY have to visit as a tourist! Maybe you know some great shops or beautiful museums that are very unknown but worth to visit. Whatever it may be. Let me know! I can use any advice, idea and help. You can leave your ideas in the comments below or email me!

I hope I can make some sort of update series about my plans. But I’ve no idea if there’s so much news every time to tell. But I’m really going to try to let this work. And again I can really use your help/advice!

Katy Perry Killer Queen

Katy Perry has more than one fragrance but this is the one I got a few months ago. When my mom gave this to me I immediately loved the package. The name is ‘Killer Queen’ and the design is for a queen. Also the fragrance is beautiful in its glass form, it’s like a diamond with a crown on top of it. This is the small edition but I’ve seen in shops that you can buy I little thrown for the bigger bottles so it can rise above all of your other fragrances. I don’t have it and have to lay it down. The body lotion in the package is also beautifully designed. Very simple, which is in contrast with the bottle. But the colour red is warm and the golden words ‘Killer Queen’ makes it look very elegant.

The most important thing about this is the smell of course. It’s a really nice but very strong smell. When I spray it on me, I have the feeling that I have to sneeze because it’s tickling my nostrils. But when I’ve had it on me for a little while I can still smell it and it’s not as strong as it was in the beginning. It became a nice fresh smell.
Since I cannot describe a scent or even tell you what I smell, I went to
Katy Perry’s site and saw that she used this description to describe what the scent exactly is:

Own the throne in an intoxicatingly and charmingly playful scent fit for royalty.

Dark Plum, Wild Berries and Bergamot

Red Velvet Flower, Rainbow Plumeria and Natural Jasmine Sambac

Cashmeran, Natural Patchouli Heart and Liquid Praline

I totally agree that this is an intoxicatingly and charmingly playful scent. But have to tell you that I totally fail when it comes to a point of describing so I just copy and past it from her site.

Most of the time when I wear a fragrance I don’t smell it anymore after a while. And sometimes even after some minutes the smell is gone but this one is different. When I wanted to take of my shirt at the end of the day I was like: do I still smell the fragrance on my shirt? Then I sniffed my shirt and yes! It was still there! Two sprays is enough to smell delicious.
The body lotion has a very similar smell but less strong. It match the fragrance very good. Sometimes when I buy a body lotion and a matching fragrance I don’t like the smell of the body lotion but with this one it’s different. The only thing about the body lotion is that it takes a little time to dry on your skin. But that’s with every other body lotion too so that’s just normal but I thought I will still mention this.

I don’t know the prize of this fragrance set because it was a present. But I do know that this is affordable when you’re not very rich just like me. ;)
It’s also a very good present to give to someone since it’s affordable. I was very happy when my mom gave me this present! This is definitely one of my favourite scents.

Take Care of Your Hair

I care a lot about my hair. I’m always looking for new products and last summer when I was in France I bought this wonderful hair mask: Garnier Fructis Nutri Repair. My French is not really good so I just guessed some words and thought: well, this one looks good and has something with oils. And this was a 1 minute mask, which was it that I decided to buy this hair mask.
The three oils in this mask are: olive, egg nog and shea. (Not sure if I translated these oils right because I translated this from French to Dutch and then to English. In French it says: 3 huiles nutritives: Olive, Avocat et Karité.)

I didn’t use the hair mask immediately on holidays because I thought my hair didn’t need it. It felt soft then and so I believed it was fine. (Stupid me:  it was summer and I was on summer holidays and then hair needs more care) But yeah, I just only washed my hair with a shampoo not using a conditioner because I forgot mine... Then after the summer holidays and when I was back in my (new!) room I noticed my hair wasn’t in a good condition at all! It was very dry and it felt like a rope and I had much more bad hair days then I’m used to. And I was wondering why I didn’t need a hair mask!?!

So when I came home I went for a shower and used the new hair mask and I remember how much difference there was. I still don’t know what I was thinking that my hair didn’t need a hair mask on holidays… but seriously. Every time I open that jar it reminds me of the holiday fail and I try to use this mask once a week because it’s so good; the smell, the results. Every time I’m like... oooh this is so good for my hair. And then I ask my sister to touch my hair and ask her to sniff it to proof her how good it smells.
My hair smells nice for a whole day! Lucky me, it’s Saturday now I’m writing this and I do not have to go anywhere because I just used the mask again and every time I have to sniff my hair. Which looks pretty weird of course. ;)

Now I’ve used this hair mask not every week because sometimes I forget it. But even after a half year the jar isn’t empty yet. And I still love the results of it.  And the last thing I have to say: hair masks are sooo good for your hair!!! (Especially this one.)
Don’t forget: Take care of your hair!

Waiting for the Bus & Girl Online

So last night I went home from my student room to my parents’ house for the weekend. The train was delayed (as always) and because of that I missed my bus. And then I had to wait for 30 minutes till the next bus was coming. While I had to wait for the bus I wrote this little blogpost to waste some time.

Normally I don't think waiting is that bad. But this is different, it is dark outside and I stand here alone. And I get a little scared. Being alone in the darkness in the evening isn't a very good idea I think.

I wanted to go into shops that were nearby, forgotten that those shops are obviously closed by 8:30 pm. One shop was still open and I walked in there. I was looking at the makeup part because everything else wasn’t very interesting. Then suddenly one of the people that work there said that they were closing. I wanted to pick up my bags and walk to the door and saw they already closed the doors! Then a guy said: “Oh sorry I already closed the doors. I didn't see you in the lanes!” If I walked a little bit slower to the exit I think I would have been locked in that shop! :o

So I just walked out the shop and put my really heavy bags beside me. I started to write this post in hope the time would pass by really fast and to get my mind of the idea that I’m standing here alone waiting for my bus in the city while it's dark outside. Oh and not forgetting to mention that it is freezing cold right now! I can barely feel my fingers while I write this. Even though there are two other people waiting next to me and so I'm not really alone I make this note to myself: Never travel alone with the bus at this time of the day. Even though it's around 8:30 and not really late it is because it's dark outside and that's just creepy! In summer I think this wouldn't have been such a big problem.

All I can think of right now is sitting (read laying) on the couch with a cup of tea and read my new book: Girl Online. I bought this book yesterday and started today when I sat in the train a few minutes ago on my way home. Everybody on Twitter and jsut general internet said about her book: I can't stop reading. And I was on one hand very excited to read this book. On the other hand I was a bit sceptical about the book. I thought everyone said this because they love Zoella so much. (Don’t get me wrong. I really love Zoella!!)
But to be honest. I can't stop reading either. I want to read it so bad right now. But it's dark outside :( I guess there will be a blogpost soon about this book! So stay tuned!!

I also hope you like this blogpost. While I'm checking spelling and grammar right now I feel scared to post this. Is this interesting? Or do you not care about these kind of posts? Because maybe I'll do this more often but maybe not. I don't know. Let me know in the comments what you think about it!

The Original Tangle Teezer

Last year one of friends gave me a Tangle Teezer for my birthday. And I’m really happy with it. I used to have a brush I didn’t like but I was too lazy to buy a new brush. So my friend said. I know the perfect present for your birthday. And yeah! She was right! I love this present.

I immediately opened the package and brushed my hair when my friend gave it to me. At first I had to get used how to hold the Tangle Teezer in my hand. It’s very weird. I always had a brush with a grip (is that the right word? I have no idea..) But now I’m in love with the Tangle Teezer. Normally when I brush my hair it hurts a little. I’ve long hair and lots of tangles in it. This hairbrush detangles my hair easily even after I have showered(!) A thing that didn’t change is that I still lose a lot of hair when I’m brushing my hair. But I think that just me. I lose a lot of hair all day…

Shaun P invented this product. The story on the package tells why he helped us with this perfect hairbrush:
“I invented Tangle Teezer because tangles were not just a salon problem, but a global one. Colouring hair for 30 passionate years enabled me to identify and invent a true solution. Years of research and development led me to create a first never-seen-before detangling hairbrush. A hairbrush that looked different, felt different, so naturally performed differently. Now you have no excuse for bad hair days”.
Go on, change your hairbrush, not your lifestyle.

And I think this is a lovely little story and I truly believe it. Normally I’m a bit sceptical when it comes to story’s that tell me that “it’s going to change my life”. (I’ve been disappointed enough with all those wonderful story’s on packages.) But this is a really good hairbrush if you’ve long hair or just hair that easily tangles and is hard to detangle.

Last Pentecost weekend I went on a sort of camp with the youth from our church. And when I used my Tangle Teezer everybody wanted to use it too. The whole weekend I was looking for my brush because every time I wanted to use it someone else was using it. So I guess the Tangle Teezer is for everyone. ;)
